Child & Adolescent Health: survey and sample structure
As part of the evaluation of the program "Gütesiegel Gesunde Schule Tirol" („Hallmark Healthy School Tyrol“) the Center for Social & Health Innovation (CSHI) is currently conducting a three-wave panel survey in Tyrolean schools. The CSHI is cooperating with the Bildungsdirektion Tirol, the Land Tirol, the ÖGK Landesstelle Tirol, the Pädagogische Hochschule Tirol (PHT) and the Versicherungsanstalt öffentlich Bediensteter (BVA).
Data: The first wave of the panel survey took place between November and December 2019. The second wave is scheduled for autumn 2020 and the third wave for spring 2021. Headmasters and teachers conducted the survey via a paper-pencil survey instructed by the CSHI. The study was approved by the Tirolean educational authority (Bildungsdirektion Tirol) and the ethical board of the MCI. Furthermore, we distributed and collected parental consent letters for all participating students. In the first wave, 1.685 students from 44 schools of various school types took part with a response rate of around 80% (calculated based on class sizes). Included in the survey are primary and secondary schools, such as vocational schools and academic high schools.
