SDG Workshops for UNESCO Schools in Austria

Innsbruck, January 10, 2024 - In our online workshop "Shaping Futures of Learning: Students as Technology Pioneers," we open new horizons for learning in a dynamic world. As part of the SDG workshops for UNESCO schools in Austria, students from various types of high schools had the unique opportunity to delve deeply into the world of educational technologies. They were encouraged to critically and reflectively question the role and influence of technologies in the learning process. The workshop thus also referenced selected Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly #4 (Education).

The workshop, which took place at three schools in Upper Austria and Carinthia, aimed to empower students aged 16 to 19 not only to act as competent users of technology-based learning solutions but also as critically-reflective pioneers in this field. The participants discussed their satisfaction with the current state of technology in educational processes and identified areas for developments in the future. They also exchanged views on the extent to which they can influence which technologies shape their lives.

Lastly, we would like to thank the Austrian UNESCO Commission and UNESCO schools for organizing these workshops.
