With the support of the China Center and Language Center of MCI | The Entrepreneurial School®, the first Chinese Corner Event - dumpling making took place successfully. This event was initiated by the Online Chinese Classroom and held on March 30, 2023. It brought together students of the two online classrooms this year, providing an opportunity to share language learning experiences and explore different cultures while enjoying the fun of making dumplings and promoting an understanding of traditional Chinese culture.

Dumpling, which translates to "Jiaozi" in Chinese, is a traditional Chinese dish with a rich history and major cultural significance that is not only popular in China but also well-known worldwide. This Chinese Corner event began with a brief introduction to the origins of dumplings and their importance in traditional Chinese festivals, followed by a demonstration of how to make traditional Chinese dumplings. Everyone who attended the event prepared and enjoyed the dumplings on their own.

The event revolved around the theme of "Meet, Communicate, Integrate." and encouraged participants to share their motivation and insights on language learning in a lively and interactive atmosphere. The Online Chinese Classroom is the first language course pattern attempted by MCI, allowing students, faculty, and alumni from all locations the opportunity to participate in language learning, while the Chinese Corner event is an extension of online language learning, by bringing everyone together onsite in this way, creating a peculiar occasion for mutual communication and experience, and helping to deepen their understanding and appreciation of different culture. The commitment of Online Chinese Classroom to promoting language learning and cultural interaction is reflected in its approach to language learning, where acquiring a language is not just about mastering words and grammar rules; it also involves a deep understanding as well as an awareness of the culture behind the language.

The Chinese Corner event was a successful cultural experience that gathered participants of the online Chinese classroom to bring their online learning to real life and practice using the Chinese words and phrases they learned to communicate in real life through this event, each participant gained a deeper understanding of different culture and developed new friendships and connections. This event was a great demonstration of how immersive cultural experiences can facilitate language learning.
