Strengthening International Ties with Chinese Partner Universities
The Dalian University of Technology (DUT) delegation visited MCI on July 8, 2024. After signing the agreement to be a partner university on July 11th, 2023, this time was the furthermore step to explore potential collaborations and strengthen international ties.
The delegation was led by Professor Li Xianneng, Vice Dean, who oversees the Scientific Research Work of the School of Economics and Management. Accompanying were Associate Professor Xu Zhaoguang, Assistant Dean, responsible for the School's International Cooperation and Accreditation; Ms. Li Hui, Director of the Teaching Development Office; Ms. Ai Jingyuan, Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Accreditation and Ms. Chu Xia, Supervisor of the Office of International Cooperation and Accreditation, responsible for student programs.
The visit commenced with a comprehensive meeting involving the International Relations Office (IRO) and various departments at MCI. Dr. Susanne Lichtmannegger, Associate Dean of International Relations, provided a general introduction to MCI, setting the stage for fruitful discussions on potential collaborations. Key figures from MCI, including Prof. Werner Stadlmayr (Head of the Environmental, Process & Energy Engineering Department); Benjamin Massow (Head of the Center for Production, Robotics & Automation Lecturer); Prof. Anita Zehrer (Head of the R&D Unit Management & Society and Head of the Family Business Center); Prof. Michael Razen (Head of the Business & Management Department); Prof. Thomas Stöckl (Deputy Head of the Business & Management Department) and Prof. Wei Manske-Wang (Head of the China Center), engaged with the DUT delegation to discuss collaborative opportunities such as exchange programs, summer schools, and winter schools.
Following the productive morning session, the delegation enjoyed a typical Austrian lunch at one of the oldest restaurants in Innsbruck “Ottoburg”, followed by a city walk and a visit to Nordkette in the afternoon, providing the DUT delegation with a cultural and scenic overview of Innsbruck and the day concluded with a dinner, allowing both parties to continue their discussions in a more informal setting, marking the end of a day filled with promising interactions and mutual exchange of ideas.
This visit underscores the commitment of both institutions to foster international collaboration and enhance academic exchanges, aiming to provide students and faculty with enriched educational experiences and global perspectives.
