MCI China Center – One Year Anniversary!

Representative of the Chinese Embassy in Austria visits MCI and MCI China Center

Internationalization is a core pillar of MCI’s strategy. China Center was officially established on May 3rd 2021 at MCI. One year has passed now! MCI China Center has successfully laid a solid foundation in the last year.

Prof. Chongling Huang (Head of Education) and Mrs. Hui Tang from the Chinese Embassy in Austria visited the MCI and MCI China Center on May 3rd 2022, the first anniversary of China Center.

Prof. Huang and Mrs. Tang were greeted warmly by MCI Rector Prof. Andreas Altmann. Together with Dr. Susanne Lichtmannegger (Head of International Relations) and Prof. Wei Manske-Wang (Head of China Center), they discussed the establishment of cooperation between Austrian and Chinese higher education institutions, the exchange of bachelor and master students, and scholarship programs, with the aim of bridging the two countries' academic exchanges.

After receiving two silk paintings from the Embassy, Prof. Andreas Altmann presented our Chinese guests with a gift on behalf of MCI, including two signed German bestsellers (Frank Sieren: Shenzhen; Tobias Loitsch: China im Blickpunkt des 21. Jahrhunderts: Impulsgeber für Wirtschaft, Wissenschaft und Gesellschaft), both authors are friends of MCI and MCI China Center.

“Looking back on the China Center's accomplishments over the past year, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to MCI and our partners for their encouragement and support,” Prof. Wei Manske-Wang is pleased to add “In the future, MCI China Center will forge ahead and build bridges between Europe and China, create even more values for students, academia, industries and society!”
