Warm hospitality, meaningful dialogue, and a robust readiness to cooperate
On 30 August, the Chinese Ambassador Li Xiaosi 李骁驷大使, accompanied by the Head of Education Prof. Dr. Chongling Huang, invited the MCI delegation, Prof. Dr. Andreas Altmann (Rector of MCI), Dr. Susanne Lichtmannegger (Associate Dean International Relations) and Prof. Dr. Wei Manske-Wang (Head of China Center), to a meeting at the Chinese Embassy in Vienna.
The guests received a warm welcome at the Chinese Embassy and were then invited to a six-course meal in the historic banquet hall, which was carefully prepared by the former chef of the Diaoyutai Guest House 钓鱼台国宾馆.
This banquet lasted for over two hours. During the wonderful culinary journey, open conversations ran on versatile topics in science, technology, education, collaboration, climate, entrepreneurship, startups, politics, diplomacy, values, social issues, security and much more.
Prof. Manske-Wang of the China Center explains: "In Chinese culture, sharing a meal together plays a fundamental role in building connections and trust. Such a personal invitation from the Ambassador is not only an honour for us, but also a powerful signal of trust and a desire for future cooperation."
